Carlee Wuchterl began her interest in theatre from a young age and pursued design through the form of Hair and Makeup beginning in 2017 at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. After discovering a passion for storytelling through costume design, she earned a BFA in Design and Technology with a costuming emphasis. Currently, she is in her first year at Purdue University as a graduate assistant of Theatrical Design and Production pursuing an MFA in Costume Design.
After earning her MFA, she hopes to continue her journey as an academic through research and ultimately becoming a professor to educate future students and inspire their interests in costume design.
Her interests in theatre center around prevalent social issues such as gender, sexuality, sex positivity, and cultural differences. Specifically in an academic setting, she hopes to inspire her peers and students to have conversations about these topics within their communities. She has a heightened interest in exploring and researching world wide culture and dress as well as making the move for future academia to have a less Western-centered gaze. She makes an effort to keep updated with current trends and fashion to better understand dress culture and how it affects everyday life with the rapid changes the world experiences daily.
